Native American Cousins, and Leads

RE-POSTS From my SPEER group on —–

Cathy Ann Abernathy
Yesterday I found a kinship connection I had suspected for quite a while; but did not find until I was going be trough a branch of the SPEER family. I had notice some ‘flaws’ in the data for one branch of the SPEER family from SC/GA — and was following up on this line one family group at a time; when a connection to the Lloyd and Parsons family (families) showed three Lloyd siblings married three SPEER siblings — these folks all live in Georgia. Following the collateral branches I discovered that the Lloyds are believed to be descendants of Lucy Weatherford (“Red Eagle” Weatherford’s third child).
So, I now know who the Native American SPEERs are that I have seen mentioned in documents from Georgia. Will post a bit more about these folks when I get home from work today.

“…Much of the saloon’s turn-of-the-century grandeur is visibly evident. Venturing into the Peerless takes customers back to a time when Anniston’s founders, including the Noble, Tyler and Sproull families, dominated the town’s political, economic and social landscapes. The massive mirror-backed mahogany bar on the west side of the building, was featured at the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair, and has been in the building since 1906. Old church pews have been cut in half to make the booths where some of you now sit. The doors and windows are adorned with ornate woodwork.(…more)”

Sproull (aka: Spruiell, Spruil, Spruell, etc.) family helping to found Anniston, Alabama? I will have to look into this lead further.
